Welcome to the Nzinga Impact Scholarship page, where we aim to inspire, elevate, and transform the lives of tomorrow's leaders. This scholarship is dedicated to graduating seniors and undergraduate students who demonstrate a commitment to creating positive change in their communities and the world.

Our goal is to support passionate individuals who are determined to make an impact and need financial assistance to continue their education. Whether you are passionate about social justice, community development, or environmental sustainability, this scholarship is for you.

Scholarship Guidelines

To ensure fairness and transparency, please carefully review the scholarship guidelines below:

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Current Enrollment: Must be a high school senior or an undergraduate student enrolled at an accredited institution for the 2024-2025 academic year.

2. Academic Achievement: A minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.

3. Community Impact: Applicants must have demonstrated an active role in their communities, whether through volunteerism, leadership, or community-based projects.

4. Essay Submission: Applicants must submit an essay (800–1,200 words) in response to one of the topics provided below.

5. Recommendation: A letter of recommendation from a teacher, community leader, or mentor is required.

Scholarship Award:

• Number of Awards: Varies based on available funds.

• Award Amount: Scholarships will be granted in the amount of $5,000 - $10,000 depending on the applicant’s need and impact potential.

Fundraising Goal:

Our fundraising efforts will run from December 3rd, 2024 – March 18th, 2025, and we aim to raise $20,000+ to support these scholarships. The funds will be used to award scholarships later in 2025.

Application Deadline:

• Application Opens: December 18th, 2024

• Application Closes: March 18th, 2025

• Award Announcement: Scholarships will be awarded by June 2025.

How to Apply:

1. Complete the online application form.

2. Submit your essay based on one of the three topics below.

3. Upload your official transcript and letter of recommendation.

4. Review and submit your application before the deadline.

Essay Topics

Applicants are required to choose one of the following essay topics:

1. "The Power of Education in Community Transformation": Discuss how education has shaped or can shape your community and how you plan to use your education to inspire and create meaningful change in the future.

2. "Overcoming Challenges and Building Resilience": Reflect on a personal challenge you have faced in life and how it has influenced your journey. How can overcoming adversity contribute to your ability to lead and create positive change in your community?

3. "Environmental Sustainability and Social Responsibility": Write about the intersection of environmental sustainability and social justice. How can these two areas work together to create lasting impacts for underserved communities? What steps can individuals take to make a difference?
